Cooking your Steak in the Oven

Using the oven to cook your steaks will allow them to cook evenly and is preferred for thicker cuts.

Remove your steak from the refrigerator and let rest for about 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 400 °F and use a cast iron skillet for cooking. Pat your steaks dry and apply your seasoning of choice. Heat your cast iron skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.

Once your skillet is hot, sear your steak for 2-3 minutes on each side. After searing, transfer your skillet to the oven and cook until your steak reaches your desired doneness.
