Cleaning and Maintaining your Cast Iron Skillet

To care for your cast iron skillet, start by removing any grease or leftover food after cooking. Use a paper towel to wipe away any excess oil or food bits. Wash the skillet by hand with hot water, gently scrubbing it with a soft sponge.

Avoid using soap or steel wool, as these can strip the skillet’s seasoning. Never put a cast iron skillet in the dishwasher. Once cleaned, dry your skillet thoroughly with a paper or cloth towel, making sure it’s completely dry before storing to prevent rust
